If you counted all the selfies or photos in general you’ve ever taken of yourself, how many would you reach? It’s funny in some kind of way, but also sad thinking about how many photos you have taken just to get the perfect one. You take hundreds of photos, in the perfect light, in a pose you know you look the best in, wearing clothes that bring out the “good” parts of yourself and which hides the “bad” parts. You delete 99 of those hundreds photos, look at the last one and in the end you delete that one as well because you don’t feel “perfect”... ”Perfect”. Yes, we want our photos of ourselves to be without pimples, stretch marks and cellulites, only show the best side of ourselves and we still use filters and editing to make ourselves become “perfect”... and then again we aren’t happy. We strive for perfection without realizing that we live in a world where perfect doesnt exist, because only REAL women and men can be perfect; people who have flaws but who walk around with confidence and strength anyway. People who would defend their flaws with pride, and who don’t want to support fake perfection by editing their photos by making yourself looking like a completely different kind of person than you are irl. Why do we keep doing all of that? You are perfect just the way you are!❤️
This photo isn’t edited and I’m not using any filters. However, I can honestly say that the light is great here and it really (in like a shocking kind of way) brings out the good parts of myself. From summer in Greece 2017.❤️
